The "Seashells Cottage" is located in the heart of secluded Cedar Key, Florida. The public dock, fishing pier, public beach and picnic area, shopping and restaurants are all within a block and close walking distance of the cottage.
From your private balcony overlooking historic First Street and the Gulf of Mexico you'll be able to watch boats coming into and out of the public marina, or bring your binoculars to view uninhabited islands just offshore. Historic "Atsena Otie" Island, once home to the Original Village of Cedar Key that was destroyed during a hurricane over one hundred years ago is the biggest island of the group and can be explored by guided tour or explore on your own via kayak or boat. The island is now a protected National Park but you can take maintained trails and visit the old cemetery or pencil factory ruins. All this is included in the panoramic view from the cottage's large balconies.
